 “Harvest”                                     Photography: December 1990

Destination: Egypt, Luxor, West Bank, Deir el-Medina.                                                              Subject: Wall reliefs in the Tomb of the Artisan Sennedjem.

Sennedjem was a member of the crew of artisans who decorated the Royal Tombs of the 19th Dynasty New Kingdon (1200BC). The East Wall painting “The Fields of the Netherworld” depicts the afterlife for Sennedjem and his wife Lyneferti. They are shown harvesting grain, sowing seeds and pulling flax in the abundant fields of the next world.
